Why Hanpeau?

Growing up I had really bad acne and zero idea on how to go about dealing with it. We didn't have easy access to the internet like it is today and so I was left to hearing advice from wherever I could get it. This included the good, the bad and the ugly and it surely did cost me some ₦₦₦.

Fast forward to now, and I am so glad I get to share with you guys all the nuggets that I have learned along the way about skin and help you to understand how to buy and use skincare products. You also get to learn to look at ingredients on your skincare to help you figure out what works best for you and how to pair products.

The name Hanpeau is a combination of two words from two languages. Han represents Korea, a place that is very dear to me. It is a word that is seeped with Korean-ness, serving as an all encompassing word for Korea. In this case it is used to represent the fact that the products that I curate on the site are from South Korea. Peau is the french word for skin and the language is synonymous to chic, so I thought it befitting for the vision I have for the brand.

This venture is an idea I had for a long time and I always said to myself that I’ll one day bring good skincare closer to Nigerians and provide a platform where people will make informed decisions on how to care for their skin with a local perspective. Every product on here was carefully selected to bring you maximum benefit without breaking the bank.

Learning about skincare and seeing the results on my skin gets me so excited and I want to share that with you all. I look forward to hearing about your stories and the products you love and I hope this site serves as a platform and a community for Nigerian Skincare lovers, especially K-beauty.
